WHY CULTURAL AWARENESS IS IMPORTANT
AFL SportsReady’s extensive experience working with Indigenous communities and corporate organisations across the country, has allowed our team to observe first-hand the positive impact cultural understanding can make to an organisation’s service delivery and its overall culture.
We have supported young Indigenous people through traineeships for nearly 20 years and in that time have provided cultural advice and built positive relationships between Aboriginal people and non-Aboriginal people in the workplace.
We believe that Cultural Awareness Training is a pivotal step in ensuring understanding and a base level of knowledge within any organisation. It’s important that a foundation is laid for this work to flow from. It also speaks to the values on an organisation in aiming to work towards creating safe, understanding and welcoming workplaces where Indigenous staff can thrive.
We deliver our program to organisations that wish to obtain a greater understanding of Indigenous culture and are seeking practical assistance to build culturally inclusive workplaces.
