A traineeship is a structured employment and training program that gives young people real-world experience while completing a full-funded nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Business.  Most traineeships are full-time and run for 12 months, but part-time options are also available.

As the host employer, you provide the workplace and day-to-day supervision. AFL SportsReady is the legal employer, managing recruitment, payroll, insurance and ongoing support.

In addition to full-time traineeships, AFL SportsReady partners with employers to support First Nations employment pathways through School-Based Traineeships and Cadetships. These programs provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with meaningful opportunities to gain experience, earn an income and complete a qualification while still at school or university.
