Traineeships are paid, employment and education training programs that give individuals a nationally recognised qualification. They are usually full-time, but can also be part-time or school-based.

    A Traineeship is typically aimed at the following person:

    • Recent high school graduates or leavers
    • Young Australians aged between 16-21 years of age
    • A school-based traineeship is typically aimed at a current year 10 student.

Individuals are supported every step of the way by a dedicated Employment Coach and an Educator who help complete coursework.

Traineeships are an amazing opportunity that allows you to earn while you learn, gaining real-world experience and invaluable skills along the way.

As a trainee, you’ll dive into the exciting world of work, acquiring hands-on knowledge that will make you stand out from the crowd.     AFL SportsReady is your legal employer and places you in an organisation for approximately one year (depending on the type of traineeship you choose).

    Our traineeship options include:

    FULL-TIME TRAINEESHIP

    • 12-month placement in an organisation
    • Studying a Certificate III or IV
    • Working a minimum of 38 hours a week

    PART-TIME TRAINEESHIP

    • 2-year placement in an organisation
    • Studying a Certificate III or IV
    • Working a minimum of 13 or 15 hours per week (Pending on your state requirement)

    SCHOOL-BASED TRAINEESHIP

    • 2-year placement in an organisation
    • Study a Certificate II or III
    • Working approximately one day a week (depending on your state requirement) whilst completing senior school

To help mitigate these difficulties, we provide all our First Nation Trainees with an exclusive First Nations Mentor to provide personal, cultural and career pathway support.
