The Library Trainee will provide quality customer service to all Library users, assist with technology support and help deliver core library services. This role includes assisting at the help desk, supporting Library programs / activities for different age groups, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained Library environment. The Trainee will gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the smooth operation of the Library.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist Library staff in delivering high-quality customer service by maintaining a professional and positive approach. Duties include performing circulation tasks at the help desk, assisting customers with self-service options and handling enquiries. The role involves re-shelving materials, maintaining collections and preparing displays to promote library resources. The Trainee will support technology use by assisting customers with Library equipment, personal devices and software applications. They will also participate in Library programs / events, contributing to lifelong learning and literacy initiatives. Adherence to Library guidelines, policies and relevant legislation is required, along with performing any other duties assigned by the Team Leader.

This position requires a willingness to work across all Library branches as needed. While not essential, advanced digital skills or proficiency in another language are desirable. National Training Wage from: $29,100 – $45,200, plus 12% Superannuation
