The Horticulture Trainee supports St Cuthbert’s Catholic School by maintaining plants and vegetation within the school grounds. They will assist with constructing horticultural features, and applying plant treatments to ensure high vegetation standards.

Key Responsibilities: The Horticultural Trainee supports the upkeep and presentation of gardens and grounds, by maintaining lawns and landscaped areas while preparing soil for the planting of trees and shrubs. The role includes identifying soil deficiencies, treating pests and diseases, as well as operating irrigation systems. The Trainee will be expected to service equipment and safely handle chemicals in line with workplace OH&S procedures. They will also assist with general site maintenance and support the construction/maintenance of domestic and commercial landscapes

The successful candidate will be familiar with basic landscaping machinery and equipment, while adhering to safety standards. They will be organised and able to meet deadlines while working collaboratively with Grounds Staff. Applicants should clearly outline their skills, experience and suitability for this Traineeship in their application.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500 pro-rata, plus 12% Superannuation
