The Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL) is a social justice organisation working to prevent and alleviate poverty across Australia. ‘Children, Youth and Inclusion’ is a division of BSL that provides programs to children, families, young people and adults. The programs aim not only to provide direct support but also to drive systemic change that strengthens communities and promotes social and economic inclusion.

The Administration Assistant Trainee will, through structured training and supervision, support the daily operations of the Inclusion team through a range of administrative and customer service tasks.

Key Responsibilities: The Administration Assistant Trainee will provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including record management, data entry, reporting and office coordination. The role supports Inclusion programs such as Saver Plus and MoneyMinded and assists with meetings, events and team coordination. It also involves managing reception and client enquiries, providing a welcoming first point of contact, responding to enquiries and referring matters to the appropriate team members.

The role requires a motivated and organised person with demonstrated customer service skills and an understanding of community-based service environments. Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, are preferred. The Trainee is expected to demonstrate empathy and a strong commitment to the values of the Brotherhood of St Laurence, while contributing to an inclusive, positive and supportive workplace environment.

National Training Wage from: $21,000 – $30,000 (pro rata), plus 12% Superannuation
