The Sport and Recreation Trainee at New Horizons will be coordinating and promoting sport and recreation activities across the Northern region, with a focus on engaging the local community and driving participation.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will develop and deliver sport and recreation programs that meet community needs, while working closely with councils, schools, community groups and sporting organisations to identify opportunities and support collaborative projects. You will promote activities to boost participation, provide guidance to local clubs, and monitor program outcomes to recommend improvements. The position also involves representing New Horizons Tasmania at meetings, forums and relevant industry events.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of community groups. An understanding of the sport and recreation industry, plus a passion for promoting healthy and active lifestyles within the community. Applicants are encouraged to clearly outline their skills, experience, and suitability for this traineeship in their application.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500, plus 12% Superannuation
