Since 1877, the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) has been the state’s peak body for Australian rules football and are committed to it being the game loved by all South Australians. Their goal is to grow and develop our great game and provide opportunities for South Australians to get involved in the game, whether it be as a player, administrator, coach, umpire, volunteer or supporter.

The Game Development Trainee is responsible for providing quality experiences through program delivery and coaching, to promote and grow grassroots Australian Rules Football, through school promotions, clinics, Auskick, Sporting Schools, competitions, and school holiday programs.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will be responsible for delivering Auskick programs by providing best-in-class coaching and ensuring high program standards, through effective promotion and practical delivery in schools and community clubs. They will also oversee football training sessions, assist with game day operations for SANFL school competitions, manage participant and team registrations. In addition, they will coordinate the delivery of Sporting School and school holiday programs, ensuring high-quality coaching by engaging with parents and stakeholders to gather feedback and drive improvements. The role also requires collaboration with SANFL departments and community clubs, building strong relationships to ensure safety and workplace health policies are adhered to.

We are seeking a candidate passionate about growing Australian rules football at the grassroots level, with strong communication skills and a commitment to creating safe and inclusive environments for all participants. The Trainee may be required to work after hours and on weekends, during AFL and SANFL fixtures, including Gather Round.

National Training Wage from: $27,300 – $43,500, plus 12.0% Superannuation
