AFL NSW/ACT is responsible for the governance, administration, development and marketing of Australian Football across the region. Focusing on the growth and participation of the sport throughout NSW and the ACT.

The Trainee will support the Development Coordinator to plan and deliver participation growth across key strategic areas. The role focuses on developing Australian Rules Football through, driving participation in AFL Auskick, Schools and Alternate Formats programs across Blacktown/The Hills. This position also supports the delivery of Multicultural and Indigenous programs, promoting inclusion and diversity within all facets of the AFL community.

Key Responsibilities: The role involves assisting with the planning, coordination and delivery of AFL programs in schools and community venues. Mentoring new casual staff, support the booking of programs and help drive participation by engaging teachers, schools and program stakeholders. The Trainee will also assist junior club Auskick centres with recruitment, volunteer coordination, coaching and promotion, while providing support for a range of community-based football activities.

The successful applicant will have well-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, personal initiative, the ability to work effectively without supervision and an enthusiastic, energetic attitude. To excel in this role, the applicant will need strong organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and a willingness to follow processes. An interest in AFL and a readiness to learn are essential. The Trainee must also be able to work flexible hours and experience working with young people will be highly regarded.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500, plus 12% Superannuation
