AFL NSW/ACT is responsible for the governance, administration, development and marketing of Australian Football across the region. Focusing on the growth and participation of the sport throughout NSW and the ACT.
The role is designed to support the delivery of community football competitions across the North Coast and North West regions. Providing administrative and operational assistance to local AFL competitions, helping to create a positive experience for players, clubs, umpires and volunteers while gaining experience in community football operations.
Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist the team with planning, coordinating and delivering regional competitions and programs. They will support match-day operations, including updating scores, results and ladders in the competition management system. The Trainee will help with competition documentation and provide on-site support to clubs, umpires and volunteers during games and events. They will assist with social media and website updates to promote community football in the region and build relationships with clubs, coordinators and other stakeholders
To be successful in this role, the Trainee will need strong organisation and time management skills, attention to detail and a willingness to follow processes. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is an interest in community football and a willingness to learn. The Trainee must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings during the season. Basic experience with digital tools is required, with PlayHQ experience desirable but not essential.
National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500, plus 12% Superannuation
