AFL NSW/ACT is responsible for the governance, administration, development and marketing of Australian Football across the region. Focusing on the growth and participation of the sport throughout NSW and the ACT.

Reporting to the Development Coordinator, the Trainee will provide key support to two important AFL departments. In Participation, the role will plan and deliver growth outcomes across all key strategic areas, focusing on developing the game of Australian Rules through implementation and execution of programs to increase participation. In Community Football, the Trainee will provide administrative support to enhance the smooth running of all operations

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will deliver and lead a variety of AFL programs in schools and community venues, ensuring programs. They will mentor new casual staff to support onboarding, communicate key messages with participants and parents and assist with program bookings. The role includes being a liaison with teachers, schools and stakeholders to create opportunities. Support junior club Auskick centres with recruitment, volunteers, coaching and promotion. Along with providing administrative support for community football competitions, club development and assisting in the delivery of local football community events.

The successful applicant will have well-developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, personal initiative, the ability to work effectively without supervision and an enthusiastic, energetic attitude. To excel in this role, the Trainee will need strong organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and a willingness to follow processes. An interest in community football and a readiness to learn are essential. The Trainee must also be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500, plus 12% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
