Reporting to the Sports Coordinator at the college, the primary purpose of this role will be to support the operation of sporting programs and facilities at the school.
Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist with the organisation of College sports carnivals and recreation programs. They will take responsibility for the general maintenance of sports equipment, uniforms and facilities, while also supporting Physical Education staff with the set-up and clean-up of classes. The role includes editing and storing photographs from sporting events, keeping accurate records of student sport representatives, managing the weekly in-school sports program, maintaining the College sports notice board, assisting students to develop their fitness, skills and coordination. The Trainee may also be involved in coaching or managing sports teams and will have the opportunity to attend school camps, excursions and sports trips.
The Trainee is expected to actively support the school’s ethos with a willingness to assist others and an enthusiastic attitude. A commitment to contributing to a positive and supportive school environment is essential. The position may involve weekend work and travel throughout the year. Applicants must also be able to work before or after school hours as required. The position is suited to someone with a strong interest in Sport, teaching and/ or coaching. While not essential, desirable qualifications and interests include a Certificate in Fitness Training, a coaching accreditation certificate, a Duke of Ed Certificate, or an interest or ability in sports photography. Candidates are encouraged to clearly outline their skills, experience and suitability for this Traineeship in their application.
National Training Wage from: $27,300 – $42,100, plus 12% Superannuation
