Duncraig Senior High School provides an exciting educational program for over one thousand secondary students from Duncraig and surrounding areas. The school is situated in the western suburbs on the coastal strip 20 kilometres from Perth and two kilometres from the ocean.

The Trainee will assist the Health and PE staff to complete daily operational and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist with Outdoor Education and Triathlon classes, including camps, hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. Also supporting offsite classes before and after school. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up equipment for classes, organising uniforms for school sporting teams, maintaining storeroom equipment and helping to coordinate school carnivals, excursions and camps. The Trainee will complete administrative duties such as preparing permission forms and nominations, supporting digital storage and photocopying for the staff. Additional duties include officiating at sporting events, liaising with staff and providing photography of classes / activities

Applicants must have the ability to swim confidently over 200m, with Bronze Medallion level preferred and will be supported to complete a Community Surf Rescue Certificate. Strong ability in road cycling and mountain bike riding is essential. The Trainee is expected to actively support the school’s ethos with a willingness to help others and an enthusiastic attitude. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to liaise and work positively with staff, parents, the wider community and show a commitment to contributing to a positive supportive school environment. The position may involve weekend work along with travel throughout the year and applicants must also be able to work before or after school hours as required. National Training Wage from: $28,400-$43,700, plus 12% Superannuation
