Rising Star Trainee for SA masters the sporting industry
Mount Barker Local, Julianne Baldcock has proved that she can take on anything after impressing her colleagues at the Australian Master Games with her involvement in one of the biggest sporting events in Australia.
Her incredible dedication and hard work saw her receive the 2015 Hostplus Rising Star Award for SA at their graduation ceremony in March.
The award is presented to the trainee who has demonstrated the greatest level of growth and ability throughout the year both professionally and personally.
It is named after Hostplus, an award winning industry superannuation fund, for those who live and love hospitality, tourism and recreation. They are also our major partner for the graduation ceremonies with this year marking our strong 10 year partnership.
‘I’m really thrilled to win the award. It’s been a busy but inspiring year and this traineeship has allowed me to explore skills and abilities I never knew I had,’ explained Juliane.
Julianne completed a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation at the Australian Masters Games and helped to organise one of the biggest sporting events in terms of participants in Australia.
‘Leading up to the games was crazy but also real exciting. The office was buzzing and to see it all come to together was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,’ she said.
‘I also helped with admin tasks, meeting minutes, training volunteers and a variety of general administrative tasks.’
Her supervisor Nic Mercer was amazed by Julianne’s work throughout the year and commended.
‘Julianne showed a maturity beyond her years and did a marvellous job throughout her traineeship,’ Mr Mercer said.
