Peter Filandia
Born in Essendon, Peter Filandia attended St Bernard’s College.
A professional AFL footballer, Peter commenced his playing career for his beloved Essendon Football Club in 1991 before being drafted to the Sydney Swans 3 years later. After 83 games, Peter’s AFL career ended in 2000.
Peter was later employed with the Department of Social Security for more than 15 years before joining AFL SportsReady in 2005. As a Field Officer, Peter manages trainees in the AFL industry and Government departments across Melbourne.
Peter describes his role as highly rewarding and enjoys making a positive difference to the lives of young people through employment and education at AFL SportsReady.
