Trainee kicks off her career in business
Thanks to her traineeship, Wangaratta local Rowie Lincoln is making it in the business industry, working full-time at Doyle Timms Accounting and Business Services.
‘An opportunity arose with AFL SportsReady to complete a Certificate III in business whilst undertaking full- time employment at Dolye Timms,’ Rowie said.
‘I saw it as a great stepping stone to get myself into the business industry while gaining a qualification and getting paid at the same time,’ she added.
Rowie believed that taking on the traineeship would give her the skills and knowledge she needed to succeed in the industry.
‘The experience of a traineeship helped me gain a lot of confidence and enable me to develop new relationships.’
After Rowie completed her AFL SportsReady Certificate III in business, she was able to secure a full-time job.
‘Upon completion of my course I was offered an ongoing full time position which was an amazing feeling.’
‘My employer encouraged further study to develop my skills and provide greater opportunities for the future, so since completing my traineeship I have successfully completed a Diploma of Business Administration.’
‘I would definitely recommend AFL SportsReady to other young people in the area. It enables you to grow yourself while getting hands-on experience within the work place.’
