2026 Schools Program Rebate

Rebates on Offer 

$2,000 for full-time trainees, $1,000 for part-time trainees. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the rebate, your school must either: 

• Be a new host school participating in the Schools Program for the first time in 2026, or 

• Be an existing host school that takes on one or more additional trainees in 2026 compared to the number hosted in 2025. 

Each additional trainee is eligible for the rebate, for example: 

• 2025 1 trainee | 2026 2 trainees = 1 additional trainee $2,000 rebate
• 2025 1 trainee | 2026 3 trainees = 2 additional trainees $4,000 rebate 

How to Qualify 

• Submit a Register Your Interest Form outlining your school’s interest in the 2026 Schools Program and the rebate.

• Identify if your school will be recruiting internally or externally – requiring AFL SportsReady’s recruitment help. 

• Sign a pledge confirming your commitment to host a new or additional trainee in 2026 by Friday 12th September 2025. This must be signed by a member of your school leadership team (e.g. Business Manager) 

• Ideally the position description should be confirmed before spring school holidays (19th September) with recruitment commencing 22nd September to 31st October 2025. 

Rebate Payment 

The rebate will be paid in two instalments: 

• 50% after the trainee reaches the 6-month mark, and 

• 50% upon the successful completion of the traineeship.
