QLD Graduate receives Internship in America
AFL SportsReady’s QLD trainee, Josh Nicholson graduated as a fully qualified Greenkeeper in 2013 and in the same year he was also nominated for the Queensland Apprentice of the Year for the Horticulture Industry and run a close second to an outstanding young tradesperson.
Josh has been selected to further develop his career in the USA, as a part of the Ohio State University Internship Program. He will spend the next 12 months working on at least two Golf Courses commencing with the Metedeconk National Golf Club, New Jersey, followed by another course in Florida.
Josh will ply his trade under the guidance of Golf Course Superintendent, Aaron McCurdy, who was the Superintendent at the Merion Golf Course where the US Open was held last year.
We wish Josh well and we are sure he will learn plenty on this overseas sojourn.
