Michael Smart

Michael is a passionate, experienced and respected leader in the employment, education and recruitment sectors. He is a problem solver with strong business development, organisational and people management skills.

Since joining AFL SportsReady in 2004, Michael has worked across all facets of the business including overseeing state operations, managing staff based around the country and leading various projects across the organisation.  While Michael officially joined the Executive Team in 2023, he has also held the interim roles of both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Michael’s focus in his current role is leadership of employment services operations, overseeing GTO compliance and auditing functions and streamlining business efficiencies.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications along with Diplomas in Business Management and Human Resources.
