LYNEEKA MALONE
AFL Queensland
Lyneeka enjoys playing footy and trying to get more girls to play AFL. It’s all part of the job she loves with AFL Queensland as a sport and recreation trainee.
After completing a school based business traineeship at Work Connections Disability Services in Mackay, Lyneeka was keen to find a role in sport and recreation and group training organisation, AFL SportsReady, were there to help her.
Her hard work and initiative have been recognised by AFL SportsReady with a special personal development award for a trainee who excels in the workplace as good role model and leader.
Her award win means Lyneeka will travel a total of around 2,000 kms to Bamaga on Cape York for the annual Chris Johnson/ Angie Nadrere Cups carnival, both round robin tournaments, for boys and girls of the communities on the Cape, and assist the organising team along the way.
Lyneeka is more motivated than ever to work in the industry and dreams of one day taking on the Regional Manager position in Mackay for AFL Queensland.
