Penola Catholic College is a co-educational college for students from years 7-12 with two campuses in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. The Glenroy campus caters for years 7 and 8. Broadmeadows senior campus caters to years 9 to 12, with a total college enrolment of approximately 1,400 students.

The Sport and Recreation Trainee supports the College’s Education programs, sporting events, aquatic activities while developing practical skills and knowledge with in sport and recreation. They will work predominantly from the Sports Coordinators Office on the Broadmeadows campus however they will also be required liaise with the Sports Coordinator on the Glenroy campus, to prioritise the weekly work commitments.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee supports the Sports Department by assisting the Sport Coordinators with administration, preparing excursion documents, managing records, updating website information and maintaining sports equipment. They will contribute to the running of school sporting carnivals, inter-school competitions and other recreational activities, as well as support team training. The role also includes allocating new students into Houses and ensuring all permissions and safety requirements are met.

The Trainee is expected to actively support the School’s Catholic ethos and willingness to support others with an enthusiastic attitude. A commitment to contributing to a positive and supportive school environment is essential. Applicants must also be able to work before or after school hours as required.

National Training Wage from: $23,300 – $42,100, plus 12% Superannuation
