Koo Wee Rup Secondary College is a Year 7 to 12 inclusive college with a vision is to cultivate a respectful, connected community where every individual learns and grows to their fullest potential.

The role of the Trainee will be to support the delivery of a wide range programs and activities across the school. This job provides the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience in coaching, event coordination and general sport administration. The Trainee will assist in creating engaging and inclusive opportunities for students to participate while developing practical skills for a potential future career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities: The position has been designed to assist staff in coaching and training interschool sports teams, organising and supporting school sporting events, camps and excursions. Help run lunchtime and after-school activities, support the promotion of sport and house activities. As well as contribute to the coordination of equipment, including preparing kits, maintaining the sports store and managing the loan and return of gear. The Trainee will take on various roles at events, such as marshalling, timekeeping, coaching, umpiring or team management, while working collaboratively with staff to deliver great experiences for students.

This is a part time position (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). The Trainee must be available to attend all year-level camps and extend working hours during weeks requiring camp attendance. To succeed in this role, applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in sport and recreation, be well organised, able to work effectively as part of a team and possess good communication skills. An enthusiasm for working with a wide range of people and contributing to the school’s sporting culture is essential. Applicants are encouraged to clearly outline their skills, experience and suitability for this traineeship in their application.

National Training Wage from: (Pro rata) $27,300 – $42,100, plus 12% Superannuation
