The Cadetship Program is a Commonwealth Funded Program that aims to provide professional employment experience and support to Indigenous Australians, whilst they undertake studies to gain formal qualifications.
Successful applicants, known as ‘Cadets’, will need to engage with an employer who will provide the Cadet with paid employment for a minimum period of 12 weeks in a role that relates to their undertaken course of study.
The 12 weeks may be undertaken as a ‘block’ at the end of the academic year (e.g. Dec – Feb), or may be done on a more regular basis during the study semester (e.g. once a week). The Cadet and the Employer are able to arrange the most suitable option for both the employer’s needs and the Cadet’s studies.
As a potential employer, whether you have a Cadet that has approached you for an opportunity or you would like to provide an opportunity for a potential Cadet, please download this form and complete the details below.
Thank you for your interest in providing an opportunity for an Indigenous Australian as part of the Cadetship Program.
As a direct employment role, the role must have a minimum guaranteed 15 hours per week.
