Prepare to be inspired by Isabella Andueza, the epitome of an outdoor enthusiast, sports lover, and adventure seeker. When she landed the opportunity to work as an Outdoor Ed teacher at Mount Lilydale Mercy College, it was a dream come true. But that’s not all – she gets paid as a trainee! Isabella’s traineeship has opened the door to a world of incredible experiences.

Picture her snowboarding down slopes, hiking through breathtaking landscapes, swimming alongside seals, canoeing through pristine waters, skiing down exhilarating slopes, conquering rock climbing challenges, and soaring through the air on thrilling zip lines.

Her journey reached its pinnacle when she led a group of year 10 students on an unforgettable trip to Falls Creek, guiding them through a series of unforgettable outdoor activities. As if that weren’t enough, Isabella also pursued her Certificate III in Sport and Recreation. Becoming even more confident in her field and fueling her ambitious career aspirations.

Her AFL SportsReady journey has been a remarkable, rewarding, and joyful adventure. An experience she describes as the best of her life. Isabella’s story is a testament to the incredible opportunities that arise from pursuing your passions and embracing adventure.

The traineeship role aligns closely with Isabella’s passions, so it’s no wonder she is completing some amazing tasks for the school. Helping out with their Outdoor Ed carnival and going along to school camps, Isabella has been

  • rock climbing
  • zip lining

The perfect traineeship ride for an adrenalin junkie!

Her absolute favourite trip was going to Falls Creek with a group of year 10 students where she led the group and guided them through many outdoor activities. Another highlight for Isabella was studying her Certificate III in Sport and Recreation as she is now even more confident in the field and will use her qualification to take on bigger career dreams.

For Isabella the AFL SportsReady journey has been nothing but fun, beneficial and exciting.
