Sally Powell

Sally has joined AFL SportsReady from the Bunnings Group where she has held a number of senior leadership roles in strategy and governance, property, eCommerce and was the State Operations Manager for Victoria. Prior to the Bunnings Group, Sally was with Bedford Group Ltd for 15 years, with the last seven years of that time as Chief Executive.

Sally has a strong disability and community service background, with extensive commercial experience in retail, manufacturing, packaging and third party logistics (3PL), hospitality, HR management and community services including housing, employment, training, counselling, community access, indigenous and youth specialised programs and support services.

Sally is an experienced Director having previously served on the Board and Committees of Westminster School, Workability International, National Disability Services Australia, Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia, and Training and Skills Commission (SA), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Sally is also the Chairperson of Social Traders, a for-purpose intermediary accrediting social enterprises and supporting business and government to purchase responsibly.

Sally holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), a Graduate Diploma in HR Management, and a Graduate Certificate of Public Policy and is currently in her final year of the Master in Public Policy undertaking a thesis in employment policy for disadvantaged persons.
