Do you want to develop skills to manage, promote and deliver sport programs? This course will give you the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in sport development and allow you to work in a variety of roles within the sporting industry.

The course provides the skills and knowledge that are required to work within the sporting industry. Once finished students are able to work in the following job roles: competition coordinator, program coordinator, sports development officer, talent development coordinator, club coordinator. Graduates could work for large or small sporting organisations in a variety of sporting settings or roles

Our program delivery varies between each state. SportsReady Education offers different modalities of study such as workshops or face to face workplace assessment. Contact your state student administration officer to discuss the training options available.

Traineeship – 12-18 months

The program has been developed to suit those in an approved traineeship program. Completion of a Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation and/or relevant experience is desirable.. SportsReady Education is committed to equity and diversity. People of diverse backgrounds and abilities are strongly encouraged to apply for this qualification.

Students are expected to complete assessments for each unit of competency in their own time outside of workshops or visits. Trainees will be allocated scheduled time away from their usual work practices to complete assessment requirements.

The Certificate IV in Sport Development comprises 8 core units and 6 elective units of study. The units set out below form the basis of the qualification but can be subject to change.

Credit for an equivalent unit of competency previously achieved will be granted upon receipt of certificate evidence.
