AFL SportsReady’s Education and Employment Manager (Tasmania), Tracey Parry said “Dylan had excelled in his traineeship and demonstrated great maturity and dedication throughout the year.”
“Dylan was a standout trainee for AFL SportsReady this year, completing a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, while working for St Michael’s Collegiate Pool in Hobart.”
“Dylan’s contribution to the Collegiate Pool has been amazing, he even completed additional training to become a qualified swimming instructor and lifeguard.” Ms Parry said.
“Dylan’s commitment has earned him full time employment at St Michael’s Collegiate; he has a bright future ahead of him.” Ms Parry added.
Rebecca Langford of Netball Tasmania was also recognised as AFL SportsReady’s 2014 HOSTPlus Rising Star, resulting from her work in completing a Certificate III and IV in Sport and Recreation / Development.
“AFL SportsReady has given me so many opportunities to expand on my working career. I have gotten so much out of the traineeship – it’s been unforgettable.” Rebecca reflected.
“I have learnt so much about myself, I have become a leader and now I am able to step up and solve any obstacle that may get in my way.”
Rebecca is currently a full time employee at Netball Tasmania and has recently been promoted to the position of Game Development Coordinator.
The 22 Tasmanian graduates completed studies in areas across sport and recreation, business, community services and horticulture, while undergoing traineeships at a range of organisations including sporting clubs, schools and in the community and finance sectors.
AFL SportsReady CEO James Montgomery said “We are passionate about helping young people create a rewarding career across a range of industries and we are proud of the high number of our trainees who go on to further study or work in their chosen fields.”
“The graduation ceremony is a fantastic way to recognise the achievements of these graduates, who have all worked hard to achieve success in their chosen areas, and we wish them all the best for their future endeavours.”
