Volleyball SA is the peak organisation for the administration of the sport of volleyball within South Australia. As the governing body of the fifth most popular sport in the world, Volleyball SA is striving to develop our sport at all levels of the game, from training juniors to casual social play to high-level competition.

The Competition and Education Trainee supports Volleyball SA’s Operational Education Plan to elevate the profile of the sport. They will liaise with Volleyball Australia and education institutions, to support and assist with education pathways for aspiring referees and coaches. In addition, the Trainee will support state league and competitions with registrations, fixtures and venue engagement.

Key Responsibilities: The Competition and Education Trainee supports the delivery of coach and referee pathways, implements education programs and assists with organising major competitions across South Australia. They help roster and monitor officials, attend program activations, and support clubs to strengthen participation. The are also required to manage equipment for all competitions and oversees record keeping, ensuring full accreditation and compliance.

The trainee is expected to uphold Volleyball SA’s core values and must be flexible to work evenings and weekends. They will need reliable transport, hold valid First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain it), and show a willingness to complete Level 1 Referee and/or Coaching accreditation.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500, plus 12.0% Superannuation
