AFL SportsReady’s Graduation; The Start of Something Great

It’s graduation season at AFL SportsReady. A special time in the year where we celebrate the achievements of our trainees, acknowledge the hard work of our staff and recognise the support of our dedicated host employers and partners.

This year our theme is, “The Start of Something Great”, in honour of the journey each and every trainee is about to embark on.

Hundreds of young people will be graduating around the country as they take to the stage to receive their graduation certificate and celebrate their personal achievements.

AFL SportsReady CEO, James Montgomery, congratulates the new graduates.

“We are now in our 25th year at AFL SportsReady and have launched the careers of over 14,000 young people including over 2,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Each year we see a cohort of amazing, talented and passionate young people ready to take that next step in their career. It’s a privilege to be part of developing the next generation of Australia’s workforces, and we look forward to watching their career journey over many years. Congratulations to the class of 2018,” said Mr Montgomery.

Awards will be presented on the night, including;

  • AFL SportsReadyTrainee of the Year’ Award – given to the trainee who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and dedication in their traineeship going above and beyond in their workplace.
  • HostPlus ‘Rising Star’ Award – presented to the trainee who has shown most potential and growth in their role.
