Participants earn while they learn, gaining valuable industry experience alongside a nationally recognised qualification that helps set them up for success in their chosen career.

    Experience can be helpful, but it is not always essential. Many employers are looking for young people who are reliable, motivated and ready to learn. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to embrace new challenges can be just as important as previous experience.

    Ideal candidates typically demonstrate:

    • A permanent right to work in Australia
    • Recent completion of secondary school (for most roles)
    • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
    • Good time management and organisational skills
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

    Certain roles may require additional checks, licences or qualifications before commencing employment. In some cases, if an applicant is willing to obtain the required checks or qualifications, they will be supported through the process.

    Depending on the role, requirements may include:

    • Working With Children Check (requirements vary by state/territory)
    • Police check or criminal history check
    • Driver’s licence (and in some cases access to reliable transport)
    • First Aid and CPR certification
    • Surf Life Saving Certificate or Community Surf Rescue Certificate (for relevant roles)

    Any special requirements will be discussed during the recruitment and screening process.
