Proud Wurundjeri woman Sophie Young started her traineeship in 2013 with Swimming Victoria and was quick to make waves in her role. After seeing the value of her experiences, Sophie signed onto complete another traineeship with Master Christi helping out in the education department.

Sophie had no career direction after finishing school so she did the two traineeships so she could get a feel of the two industries and from there she could decide which to pursue.

She earned a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation and a Certificate IV in Sport Development, which provided her with a broad range of skills and knowledge.
Although she loved working with Swimming Victoria she found that her second traineeship at Master Christi ignited a new passion for teaching and decided to pursue a career in teaching.
