Adelaide Football Club
Melinda Riley is a high achiever, completing her traineeship in 2013 at Adelaide Football Club and being awarded the 2014 AFL SportsReady National Trainee of the Year.
Coming straight out of high school she applied for the traineeship so she could gain hands on experience in the work place and get her foot in the door of the sporting industry. Melinda knew that jobs in this industry were exceptionally difficult to secure and saw the AFL traineeship as her best chance to realise her dream career. Melinda also completed a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation which she believes was a crucial aspect of her experience.
Her traineeship has been an exciting adventure where she has gained a greater understanding of the AFL industry and met inspiring people who have supported her along the way.
“I would recommend for everyone to do it! I have never come across such a fantastic opportunity for young people. Whether they are straight from school, still in school or are looking for a job, this program gives you endless opportunities to grow and achieve your career dreams!”
