FINAL HOST BLOG – Dakota Completes her Traineeship

Our amazing Social Media Trainee, Dakota, successfully completed her traineeship and is moving back to her hometown, Forster, to regroup before setting off to Brisbane to pursue a career in Marketing and Communications. Although we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly excited for this next chapter in her life.

What a year it has been having Dakota in the Marketing team. As a supervisor I could not be prouder of Dakota and everything she has achieved at AFL SportsReady.   From the moment Dakota came on board, she hit the ground running. Over the year Dakota has developed tremendously in her writing skills and has produced many amazing articles for our website. She is now not only an exceptional news article writer but also highly capable of conducting interviews.  Dakota learnt the systems instantly and can now proficiently create email marketing campaigns, plus she is a social media superstar! She managed the Instagram platform over the year and produced some amazing video content and graphics. From never really making videos before, Dakota absolutely thrives in this area.

Dakota has gone from strength to strength taking on many projects with enthusiasm and excitement and bringing to the table new and innovative ideas. As a supervisor, I could not have done it without her, her support has been invaluable. Her constant support is why we have produced triple the amount of content, stories, videos, and graphics over the year. Her support is what has allowed me to focus on other major projects and campaigns. To have a team member work closely with me, like Dakota, has been a career highlight. We connected immediately and worked so well as a team. She kept me grounded and encouraged me, uplifted me, and helped me improve as a manager and as a person.

Dakota completed her education component with flying colours, an ode to her determination and perseverance. She also supported the team over the last few weeks in the lead up to the Virtual Graduation Party. There is nothing she cannot do! She is a superstar in every way.

The beauty of this traineeship is that not only has she supported the team, but this experience has ignited a new passion in marketing and communications for Dakota, to continue to hone in on her writing skills, tell inspiring stories and to work in the First Nations space. This opportunity has now set her up for a career in what she is most passionate about.

Good luck for the next chapter Dakota! You will always be amazing.
