Cadetship Opportunities in VIC

The Coles Group Indigenous Cadetship Program supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to complete their undergraduate degree and gain professional work experience within the organisation. Cadets are provided with a study allowance and 50 days paid work per calendar year as part of the program.

Multiple cadetships available! We are seeking applications for the following roles:

Cadetship 1 – Health and Wellbeing Cadet

Cadetship 2 – Property Planning Cadet

Am I eligible?

Positions are open to students all around Australia.  To be considered for a Cadetship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be of Aboriginal Australian and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • Identify as an Aboriginal Australian and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Be accepted as an Aboriginal Australian and/or Torres Strait Islander in the community in which they live or have lived
  • Be enrolled for full-time study (defined as at least 75% of the full-time study load) at a university located in Australia
  • Be enrolled in their first undergraduate degree course
  • Be studying full time (unless in your final year of study)
  • Be an Australian resident

Health and Wellbeing Cadet

Location: Hawthorn East, VIC

About the role: As the Cadet within the Health and Wellbeing Team, you will support the delivery of programs and initiatives that promote the health, wellbeing, and safety of our team members across the business. You’ll work collaboratively with stakeholders across Operations, Safety, and Support Teams to help create positive workplace experiences and contribute to initiatives that support physical, mental and social wellbeing in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and delivery of health and wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Assist with wellbeing campaigns, communications, and engagement activities
  • Contribute to projects focused on injury prevention, workplace wellbeing, and team member experience
  • Support data analysis, reporting, and evaluation of program outcomes
  • Participate in workplace assessments, trials, and continuous improvement activities to help create safe and supportive environments

Preferred degree / discipline:

  • Health and Safety
  • Allied Health (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation, Psychology, Wellbeing)
  • Public Health
  • Health Promotion
  • Human Movement / Exercise Science

Property Planning Cadet

Location: Hawthorn East, VIC

About the role: As the Property Planning Cadet in the Location Planning Team, you’ll help determine where future stores are built and forecast their sales potential. Working across teams including Property, Finance, Liquor, Strategy, Marketing and Store Development, you’ll build strong collaboration and analytical skills while using data, models and planning tools to support key business decisions and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on store refurbishment proposals, including deciding which stores are upgraded and contributing to business cases for Board approval
  • Producing sales forecasts for new Liquor store proposals
  • Conducting post-investment reviews on newly opened stores to assess decision effectiveness
  • Delivering project-based work that generates new insights and supports continuous improvement

  • Geography
  • Spatial Science or Geospatial Science
