St Mary’s College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 Catholic school for girls, located on the northern city fringe of Hobart. St Mary’s College offers a dynamic environment in which young people are able to fulfil their spiritual, academic and personal potential.

The Trainee will play an active role in assisting staff with the delivery of a wide range of interschool sport and outdoor programs, contributing to the organisation and smooth running of the HPE department.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will support the delivery of sport and outdoor education programs through a mix of coordination, administration and hands-on involvement. This includes assisting with interschool sport and outdoor program logistics such as transport, venue bookings, organising carnivals and representative teams. The role involves coaching and supervising students during after school sport and lunchtime training sessions, as well as setting up for HPE lessons and supporting outdoor education activities. The Trainee will also manage sporting uniforms, equipment and kits while ensuring a safe environment.

The successful applicant will have a strong interest in sport and recreation. They should be well organised, able to work as part of a team and possess good communication skills. The role suits someone motivated, reliable and capable of working independently, who enjoys engaging with a wide range of people.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,570, plus 12% Superannuation
