JRLF Senior School caters for students from Grades 7 to 12. It is a unique facility which caters to a range of different learners with a focus on vocational opportunities. The school is made up of the main high school campus, the extension 11-12 campus, the Trade Training Centre and the JRLF School Farm.

The purpose of this part-time traineeship is to support the school’s kitchen and cookery programs. The role is based on-site at Jordan River Learning Federation Senior School. The successful candidate will work part-time (30 hours per fortnight) during the school term (40 weeks per year, with no work during school holidays). Work days are Monday and Thursday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.On successful completion, the trainee will receive a Certificate II in Cookery.

Key Responsibilities: The Hospitality Trainee supports daily kitchen operations. They assist with food preparation and service. They maintain a clean, safe and organised environment. They work closely with the Supervisor, staff and students. They help manage deliveries and stock. They follow hygiene and WHS procedures. They contribute to the overall upkeep of the kitchen. This includes daily cleaning and end-of-term maintenance.

The successful candidate will be required to be a current Year 11 student, maintaining 85% attendance. The trainee may be required to work beyond normal hours to support college events and functions. Applicants are encouraged to clearly outline their skills, experience and suitability for this traineeship in their application.

National Training Wage from: $16.96 per hour, plus 12% Superannuation
