The Sport and Recreation Trainee position offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about pursuing a career in education. The Trainee will work closely with PE teachers to support student learning and development, with a particular focus on students with learning needs. Under the supervision of classroom teachers, the Trainee contribute to the smooth operation of lessons, ensuring an engaging and supportive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities: The Sport and Recreation Trainee will assist PE teachers with various duties, including activity coordination, lesson preparation, setting up equipment and assisting with attendance records. They will support student learning by helping with fitness plan development, and providing assistance in both classroom and gym settings. The role will involve monitoring student behaviour during PE classes and activities, ensuring the safe use of gym equipment. Additionally, the Trainee will help facilitate small group learning, support lunchtime activities and attend sporting events, excursions and school camps, contributing to students’ overall learning experience.

The Trainee is expected to actively support the School’s ethos and willingness to support others with an enthusiastic attitude. A commitment to contributing to a positive and supportive school environment is essential. Applicants must also be able to work before or after school hours as required. National Training Wage from: $28,400 – $43,700, plus 12.0% Superannuation
