The Trainee will contribute to the daily organisation and running of the Health and Physical Education, Sport, Home Economics and Arts areas of the College.
Key Responsibilities: Physical Education: this includes preparing and storing equipment, assisting with lesson preparation and helping with the administration of excursions.
Sport: the role includes assisting with the organisation of Western Zone competitions, school carnivals, the Josephite Exchange and SAPSASA teams, as well as supporting House Captains and maintaining communication with students, staff and other schools.
Home Economics: the Trainee will assist with weekly stocktake, ordering and preparation of equipment, and may be required to purchase resources or assist with College events such as the Year 12 dinner.
Within the Arts Faculty the Trainee will help with the setup of audio-visual equipment, organisation of the Instrumental program, supervision during rehearsals for major events and maintaining Arts resources.
The successful applicant will have a strong interest in sport, arts and/or teaching and will be expected to actively support the school’s ethos. The Trainee should show a willingness to assist others, bring enthusiasm to all aspects of the role and demonstrate a commitment to creating a positive and supportive school environment. Applicants must have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, the ability to work collaboratively and the initiative to take an active role in a wide range of sporting and educational activities. The Trainee may also be required to attend camps, support school functions and provide assistance during lessons. Flexibility is important, as the position will involve additional hours at certain times of the year and during major school events. The successful applicant will be required to complete Approved Mandatory Notification training (RRHAN Masterclass) upon appointment.
