Hobart City High School is a co-educational school in the heart of Hobart that offers the Australian Curriculum to students across Years 7 to 12. Students are supported through contemporary theories of learning specifically related to learner differences and learner needs.

The Business Administration Trainee will undertake various administrative and clerical duties to support the function of Hobart City High School. This role involves contributing to the smooth operation of school processes and providing general administrative support across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will undertake general clerical activities, including creating and maintaining administrative systems such as enrolments, timetables and teaching records. They will provide administrative assistance to staff, managers and clients, including communication with the public through handling enquiries or routine investigations into queries and providing advice by telephone and face-to-face. The Trainee will use a range of computer software and systems to produce documents and complete multiple administrative tasks including basic financial transactions, venue bookings, ordering office supplies, filing, mailing and drafting correspondence. The Trainee may also assist other team members as required.

The Trainee is expected to actively support the school’s ethos, assist others where needed and maintain an enthusiastic attitude. A commitment to fostering a positive and supportive school environment is essential. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to liaise with clients and staff sensitively and confidentially. Proficiency with office technologies and the ability to adapt to new systems is essential.
