Morphettville is the location of the South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) and serves as a venue for thoroughbred racing and associated events in metropolitan Adelaide.

South Australian Jockey Club is seeking a Groundskeeping Trainee to support the delivery of racing surfaces, training facilities and surrounding grounds. Reporting to the Racing Operations Manager, the role involves following set tasks and routines in an outdoor work environment.

Key Responsibilities: The role includes repetitive maintenance work such as divetting, mowing, moving rails and applying various chemical treatments. The Trainee will be expected to operate and clean machinery, remove waste, perform basic grounds and garden upkeep and carry out general manual labour. Regular duties may be performed with minimal supervision and tasks will often be physically demanding. The Trainee will also attend required training and assist with Trackwork and Pool duties as directed.

This position may suit someone prepared for early mornings, Saturdays, ongoing physical work and exposure to varied weather conditions. Applicants should be comfortable following instructions in a structured team setting and contributing to routine grounds tasks as needed.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 12% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
