The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) was founded in 1892 and has remained the leading organisation for Amateur Football in Australia. Players compete for the love of the game across a structured competition featuring six senior men’s sections, six senior women’s competitions, multiple under-19, thirds and masters divisions. With 70 clubs fielding around 300 teams across 35 sections, the VAFA is the largest community football competition.

This position focuses on accurate data entry and analysis to support football operations, while offering valuable hands-on experience within a sporting organisation under the guidance of the General Manager of Football & Umpiring.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will assist in the weekly surveillance, compilation of match day fines, breaches of Match Day Requirements, VAFA Rules and Policy Breaches. They will also process financial payments related to investigations, permit hearings and finals football. Additionally, the role involves actioning Player Points applications and reassessments. Other duties include managing general football department enquiries, preparing agendas / minutes for the VAFA Football Sub-Committee and supporting football operations during finals and representative football.

While not essential, experience in sports administration, office environments, or platforms like PlayHQ would be beneficial. The VAFA offers a vibrant and supportive workplace with career development opportunities and the chance to be part of Australia’s largest community football association.

National Training Wage from: $28,100 – $43,500 pro-rata, plus 12% Superannuation
