AFL Queensland is home to over 200,000 participants, including those in the Northern Rivers region. Offering pathways from the introductory NAB AFL Auskick program to the AFL Masters Competition. AFL Queensland supports football at all levels, fostering growth and participation across the state.

The Program and Participation Trainee will assist in the delivery and promotion of AFL programs. This includes but is not limited to NAB AFL Auskick, NAB AFL Superkick, AFL Nines, School Programs and Competitions, as well as Community Football. The role plays an important part in ensuring these programs are delivered to a high standard and continue to grow participation in the game.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, the Trainee will assist in the delivery and promotion of AFL programs, promotions and competitions while maintaining program databases and providing general administrative support. They will also assist with logistics, including the maintenance of equipment and facilities and will be required to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders. Beyond their core responsibilities, the Trainee will support and contribute to the broader Participation and Programs team to ensure consistent program outcomes.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills, strong time management and organisation abilities and a commitment to delivering quality programs. They should be able to work well both independently and as part of a team, show problem-solving capacity, attention to detail, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. A current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle are required. You may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. National Training Wage from: $27,300 – $42,100, plus 12% Superannuation
