Horticulture / Turf Management | Full Time (Open) 

Fully Funded Qualification: Certificate III in Turf Management

The 18-hole course at the exclusive Capital Golf Club offers a magnificent golfing experience, reserved for members and their invited guests. Designed by Peter Thomson, the course features an exclusive layout and is maintained in immaculate condition. Spanning 14 hectares of lakes and including 190 bunkers, it presents a challenging yet beautiful landscape for golfers.

The Horticulture Apprentice supports the maintenance and repair of all golf course areas, carrying out tasks essential for the upkeep of the grounds. Working under guidance, the Trainee will assist in maintaining high standards across various areas, including turf, gardens, lake environments, by performing activities that contribute to the overall presentation and functionality of the course.

Key Responsibilities: The Horticulture Apprentice will adhere to Workplace OH&S procedures, promoting safety and well-being for themselves and others. They will maintain all areas of the complex, including but not limited to turf, gardens, bunkers, roadways and lakes, using specialised machinery. Routine duties will include mowing, spraying, trimming, watering and raking to support the appearance and condition of the golf course grounds. They will also assist with pruning, planting, transplanting, pest management and the preparation of garden beds, as well as handling and storing chemicals safely.

Additional responsibilities will involve operating, servicing and installing irrigation systems to ensure optimal course conditions. The Trainee will be expected to perform all tasks as directed with responsibility and diligence, supporting the maintenance team’s efforts in keeping the course to an exceptional standard.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
