The Sports and Rec Trainee position is a structured role designed to provide a recent school leaver with practical experience in the HPE Learning Area and Sports Department. As a Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience, supporting the sports and HPE teams through the organisation and upkeep of uniforms, equipment, and facilities while working toward a nationally recognized qualification. Loyola staff will support you in completing this traineeship to ensure a quality, on-the-job experience.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Sport, attending regular meetings to help plan the weekly sports program. Your main duties include maintaining and distributing ACS, LCS, and HPE equipment, setting up game-day and training equipment, organizing and caring for team uniforms, and performing general administration tasks such as printing and scanning. You will also help maintain sports storerooms and uniform rooms, assist with Open Day preparations and attend Year 8 camp, ensure fitness room equipment is safe, tidy and perform additional duties like attending OES camps, coaching and supporting sports events. Maintaining a child-safe environment and promoting student wellbeing are essential responsibilities.
This traineeship offers an opportunity for recent school leavers who have a passion for sports programs and an active lifestyle. You will learn to work cooperatively within the team, setting, achieving goals and engaging in Loyola’s sports culture. Additionally, you will be required to adhere to the College’s Occupational Health & Safety policies and maintain a working knowledge of Child Safe standards, promoting a safe and supportive environment for students.
People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
