The Sports and Physical Education Trainee position is a structured role designed to provide a recent school leaver with practical experience in the HPE Learning Area and Sports Department. As a Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience, supporting the sports and HPE teams, while working toward a nationally recognised qualification. Loyola staff will support you in completing this traineeship to ensure a quality, on-the-job experience.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Sport, attending regular meetings to help plan the weekly sports program. Your main duties include maintaining and distributing equipment, setting up game-day and training equipment, organising team uniforms and performing general administration. You will also help maintain sports storerooms/uniform rooms, assist with Open Day preparations and Year 8 camp, plus attend OES camps, coaching and supporting sports events. Maintaining a child-safe environment and promoting student wellbeing are essential responsibilities.

The Trainee is expected to actively support the School’s ethos and willingness to support others with an enthusiastic attitude. A commitment to contributing to a positive and supportive school environment is essential. The position may involve weekend work and travel throughout the year. Applicants must also be able to work before or after school hours as required.

National Training Wage from: $28,000 – $45,000, plus 12% Superannuation

This role is suitable for a recent year 12 school leaver or a mature age candidate
