The Sports Trainee will work closely with staff and students across multiple faculties, including Health, Physical Education, Outdoor Education, and VCAL, to support both administrational and hands-on activities. Under the guidance of the Sports and Wellness Centre Manager, this traineeship offers an opportunity to support the delivery of sports and wellness programs while encouraging students to explore new ways to move and enjoy physical activity.
Key Responsibilities: The Sports Trainee’s responsibilities include assisting with the delivery of sports and physical activity programs, coordinating camps and excursions, and supporting the planning of inter-school sports and house carnivals. The Trainee will also help with class preparation, routine maintenance of equipment and facilities, inventory control, and general set-up for Health, PE, and Outdoor Education classes. Additional responsibilities involve providing administrative support, managing data entry and tracking, and promoting sports activities.
In addition to the key priorities, the Sports Trainee will be expected to document and maintain procedures relevant to the position, uphold Child Safe standards, and contribute to health and safety responsibilities at the College. They will work closely with key contacts, including the Sports and Wellness Centre Manager, Sports Coordinator, Health, PE, and Outdoor Ed staff, and external sports and camp providers.
Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
National Training Wage from: $19,000, plus 11.5% Superannuation
