This is a trainee position in the Sport and Physical Education Learning Area at Woodleigh School, commencing in Term 1, 2025 for an 11-month period. The traineeship provides an opportunity to gain industry experience in a school environment, primarily supporting Woodleigh School teachers and students in the areas of sport, physical education, activities and camps.

Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining sports equipment, including making minor repairs, sterilising equipment and ensuring it is neatly stored. They will assist in coaching after-school netball and basketball programs, actively participate in physical education classes, sport programs, supervise the gym and multi-courts during recess and lunchtime. Additional responsibilities include line marking, coordinating gym bookings, arranging buses for SIS teams and contributing to the organisation of sporting excursions and carnivals.

The role also involves supporting the school’s Camp and Activities programs, assisting with Homestead, Activities Week Camps and ensuring all sport facilities are properly opened and locked at the start and end of each day. Managing the email inbox and responding appropriately is another key task in this position. Passion for physical education is highly desirable in applicants.
People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
