Salesian College Sunbury is a co-educational school providing quality education in a community of faith.

The Performing Arts Trainee will assist the Performing Arts Department by performing essential administrative, clerical and operational tasks. The role involves supporting teachers and staff with lesson preparation, maintaining resources and providing assistance for performing arts events such as excursions, camps, and the college production. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the performing arts field while working closely with the Performing Arts Coordinator, staff and the Artistic Team.

Key Responsibilities: The Trainee will perform basic administrative duties including photocopying, filing, assisting with ordering resources and supplies. They will also support the logistics of performing arts events by purchasing group travel tickets, helping with incursions and excursions. Further responsibilities include cleaning and organising work areas, maintaining storerooms and assisting in the preparation of materials for lessons. The Trainee will also act as an Assistant Producer for the College Production and manage booking programs for events such as TryBooking. Additional tasks include maintaining costumes and props, assisting with displays, assemblies and providing relevant information to students and the school community.

This traineeship is designed for those seeking to start their careers in performing arts and is not available to individuals with tertiary qualifications. Current university students may need to defer their studies to be eligible. The role offers a chance to develop skills in both performing arts administration and event coordination while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy department.

National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
