Salesian College Sunbury is a co-educational school providing quality education in a community of faith.
The trainee will support the Vocational Pathways Department by performing a range of administrative and clerical tasks, assisting with classroom projects, maintaining department resources and equipment. This role also involves helping with school events, excursions, student work placements and animal care. The position provides hands-on experience in a school environment, offering valuable skills in resource management, equipment operation and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for photocopying, filing, preparing resources and assisting with stock control by sourcing prices, compiling orders and following up on delayed orders. You will also help with purchasing materials from suppliers, assist with incursions, excursions, and classroom projects. Additional duties include maintaining the Health & Safety register, dispersing TAFE information, updating the Vocational Pathways board, cleaning and organising work areas and conducting equipment audits. You will manage resources by clearing, storing, ordering stock, unpacking deliveries and ensuring the safe storage of materials. The role also includes assisting with special events like assemblies, Salesian College Sunbury’s Rupo Harvest, subject selection evenings, as well as supervising catch-up sessions for students. Additionally, you will help care for the chickens as part of your duties.
This traineeship offers the chance to work closely with the Vocational Pathways team, assisting in areas like the Coffee Van and helping with publications, newsletters and online content. You will be involved in setting up and taking down displays for special projects and events. Please note that people with tertiary qualifications need not apply and university applicants may need to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
National Training Wage from: $21,500, plus 11.5% Superannuation
