Edmund Rice College is an independent Catholic boys school in the Edmund Rice tradition, catering for Students in Years 7 to 12 located in the heart of the Illawarra. Wonderfully diverse in its nature, the College welcomes boys from all over the Illawarra providing young men with a wide array of educational experiences and opportunities.

This role supports the coordination and organisation of college sports programs, ensuring the smooth operation of sporting events and activities. The position involves assisting with sports carnivals, maintaining sports equipment and uniforms and supporting the Physical Education department in practical lessons. Additionally, it requires fostering student fitness and skill development through various coaching and sports management duties.

Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of sports facilities and equipment, as well as managing the weekly in-school sports program. They will assist in setting up and running events, writing sporting articles and keeping records of student sports representatives. The role also includes photographing events, coaching or managing sports teams for diocesan and NSWCCC competitions and attending school camps and excursions. Collaboration with staff and students is key, as is maintaining professionalism in all communication.

Candidates must have a strong interest in Christian values, sport, teaching, or coaching, as well as the ability to work independently. A current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check are essential.

Preferred qualifications include a Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion, First Aid & CPR certifications and coaching accreditation. The role requires excellent organisational and computer skills, along with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

National Training Wage from: $26,000, plus 11.5% Superannuation

This role is suitable for recent secondary school leavers
