How a Traineeship can benefit your School

AFL SportsReady has provided traineeship support to schools right across Australia since 1994 and supported more than 1,000 trainees in schools.

Our traineeships are designed to meet the needs of both the school and the trainee and can be full time or part time. Initially, AFL SportsReady traineeships provided much needed support to teachers delivering physical education and sports programs in primary and secondary schools. Now we have diversified and can also provide support across administration, information technology and, more recently, visual and performing arts through our new program, ArtsReady.

AFL SportsReady is also committed to providing young Indigenous people with the opportunity to make that first career step. Our Indigenous Employment Program can provide both schools and Indigenous trainees with the support and mentoring to make an Indigenous traineeship a genuine success. 

Getting the right qualification is important for Trainees. SportsReady Education, our Registered Training Organisation, ensures that AFL SportsReady meets the highest education standards for all our trainees and schools. Schools provide the workplace environment where a young trainee can thrive. THE ELIZABETH MURDOCH COLLEGE CASE STUDY

Ryan Larkin’s colleagues at Elisabeth Murdoch College call him the best trainee the school has ever had. However, Brook Taylor, the school’s Director of Sport, goes a step further by describing Ryan as the most competent young man she has ever met.
